Sports-Special Olympics Special Olympics The Special Olympics is an international program for year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than one million children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics is founded on the belief that people with intellectual disabilities can, with proper instruction and encouragement, learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports, adapted as necessary to meet the needs of those special mental and physical limitations. Summer Camps ROTC The Hopkinsville military recruitment office is located at 4152 Ft. Campbell Blvd, across from O'Charley's restaurant. All branches of the military are located in this office. Students 17 or over can talk with a military recruiter about participating in a summer program before their senior year of high school. Each student is paid during this time period, travels.

Sports-Swimming Red Cross lessons Red Cross Swim lessons are not taught by the Red Cross but are available at the Hopkinsville YMCA and include courses to become a certified Red Cross Life Guard. Sports-Summer Camps In town-Out of Town Like summer academic camps, many colleges host sport camps for a specific sport, usually held on-campus and coached by the actual college coach and his player/counselors. Depending upon the camp, each athlete is able to test his or her abilities against similar athletes from across the state or nation. Depending upon your child's interest, ask any local high school coach for additional details. Depending upon the sport, many local high school coaches conduct their own summer sport camp at one of the local high schools.

Sports-Football Bud Hudson-Little League The youth football league (Bud Hudson Football League) for ages 8-13 is sponsored by the Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club and games are played during the Fall. Leadership 21st Century Youth Program The Focus 21st Century Minority Leadership Program is organized exclusively for educational purposes, more specifically to enhance leadership skills, create community awareness, and promote minority representation in the Hopkinsville-Christian County community. The program consists of approximately 22 students who meet on Saturday for 8 months.
